After over 3 years of living in California, I am still in awe of how much there is to explore. From the iconic places you can find along the coastlines to foggy forests and magical mountains, you could spend a lifetime exploring the golden state.
While there are countless things to do and see in California, I tried to break it down to 10 of my best California destinations that are worth a visit.
Here are just a few of the jewels to discover on your California journey!
Downtown Los Angeles
Known as the 2nd most populated city in the US, this celebrity city hub has a lot of things to showcase for every everybody. My most favorite in LA is the oldest section of Los Angeles called El Pueblos de Los Angeles where you can find tons of historical points on how Los Angeles really started.
One of the most diverse cities in the United States. It is packed with amazing places and incredible food that it’s hard to name all of my most favorites! Whether you want to hangout to chill or city sightseeing, this place is one of the best spots in California.
With idyllic weather all year round, you can visit San Diego at any time you want. The spectacular coastline and bay is a total package to have some fun under the sun.
Pismo Beach California
Located on the central coast of California in between Los Angeles and San Francisco lies a laid-back life and off-road fun. Pismo Beach is the closest Beach in my area so we kept on coming back here whenever we have time.
There are plenty of things to do in Monterey but you shouldn’t missed one of the world’s best Aquarium. This aquarium is so fun to see and very interesting to all ages.
Located just west of Paso Robles, Hearst Castle is one of the most iconic landmarks in California. This lavish estate built by media magnate William Randolph Hearst should be on your top list to visit in California. With rich history and impressive architecture, Hearst Castle is one of the most interesting place to see in California.
Giant Sequoia National Monument
Where you will find the largest tree in the whole world that is over 1000 years old, General Sherman Tree. This spectacular Sequoia grove is a must see in everyone’s life!
One of the most amazing California spots that I’ve visited is Yosemite. It has some of the best views, hiking trails and makes a family-perfect vacation place.
Fall is my favorite time to visit as you can enjoy the smell of the autumn breeze.
Joshua Trees are everywhere in Mojave Desert. You can either admire it while driving or venture into the desert. Sunset is the best time to enjoy the beauty of the Mojave.
Nestled in the foothills of Sierra Nevada and is basically in the shadow of Mt. Whitney lies the outstanding Alabama Hills. A series of unusual and magnificent rock formations that are breath-taking. You can either explore the area by vehicle or by foot.
