My weekend was a productive one. I did the laundry and the kitchen was tidy, but it still felt like something was missing around the house. I started thinking about this scented 3 wick candle that I’ve been wanting to buy at Bath & Body Works. I love their three wick candles because of how long they last and at the same time they add that aroma that every clean house needs. I decided to jump onto their online store to shop and found that they were on sale and the prices were amazing. A large 3-wick candle for only $12.50? I could buy 2 at that price? I was thinking to myself “these are good deals.” However, my husband suggested that it would better go shopping at the mall the next day so I could sample the scents beforehand.
For some reason, just like a teenage girl, shopping to me is like dopamine. Even when I just think about it, the excitement runs through every vein of my being. My husband on the other hand, doesn’t like shopping that much, but he has eventually learned to be patient with me. He recently fractured his leg and has been in cast for more than 2 weeks now. The thought of him going mall shopping concerned me. The last time we went shopping was for groceries and it lasted for almost 2 hours. When we got home his leg was really swollen. Despite him using an electric cart, he is in a healing period and we pushed our luck, thinking an electric cart would make the difference.
I haven’t gotten my drivers licence yet, so I asked him if he would drop me off on his way to his office, instead of me pushing him with a wheelchair at the mall with the 1-year old on his lap. Of course he agreed.
Anyway, back to my shopping.. When I finally made it to Bath & Body Works, my heart sank when they told me that the deal for the 3-wick candle ended yesterday. It was heart breaking. I asked Jolanda, the lady who helped me find the pineapple-mango 3-wick candle. She was very nice and helpful but the price of candle had doubled to $24.50. Really?? This was just too much for me. Anyone who knows me can tell you that I pride myself on being a very thrifty shopper. Instead, I would just focus on what deals I could find. I ended up buying the 5 for $20 foam wash and they are amazing with refreshing tropical scents. I love the smell of all of them, but my most favorite is the sunshine & lemons. Oh so creamy and soft in the hands. The scents are energizing too.
The best part of my time at the mall was my visit to Forever 21. I have always loved their designs even when I was back in the Philippines. I also love the cut of their dresses, the materials they use and they are available in most sizes. I was in great awe when I went there, straight at the back where all the clearance sales are displayed. Oh my eyes were just filled with hearts everywhere I see. I saw a tag right in front of my face – BOGO. Buy One Get One on all of the sale items! I was “Like Whaaaat?!” This must be heaven! One has to have a lot of patience when shopping here because you have to dig to find your things. For me this is serious business, but my son, just like his dad, doesn’t share my passion for shopping either. He just got crabbier and crabbier as I started to look around the rest of the store. Around noon is his nappy time, so I new that my time was short in this oasis of reasonably priced fashion.
While my hands are examining the dresses, I got one foot pushing the stroller in and out to try to get him to stop crying. Ultimately, I had to walk and stroll in hopes that it would get him take his nap before I get too committed in looking around for clothes. The numbers keep flashing before my eyes. $7, $5, $3 and even a dollar? The prices were insanely beautiful plus BOGO. It’s time to party! But the music of my son’s exhaustion needs to stop and I need to start shopping…
In the end, my outing went very well. For $28.95 including tax, I bought 10 items and I love them all. That is an average price of less than $3.00 each! How amazing is that? This deal lasts until end of February so check it out on your next visit to the mall.
Here is a quick show of what you could get for less then $30 at Forever 21:
Ready for summer with this wrap around dress. It is totally nice as either a sundress or just a cover for your swimwear.
I love skirts, but this stripe skirt caught my eye while one lady was looking at it too. Funny but I put it directly in my shopping bag as soon as the lady walk away from it.
I am very excited to wear this khaki shorts as they are so nice and comfy when your either just around house or by the beach.
Of among the clothes I bought, this dress is my husband’s favorite. It is also a wrap around that has a vintage floral design. This one looks best for a date night.
I also bought two yoga or gym tops that have a classic cut. Both tops have a racer back design and a strappy detail that has a medium support.
Can you believe that I got all these items for less than $3 bucks each?? Who else gets overwhelmed in the store because of their great deals? I’d like to know your thoughts.
